What makes our Rainforest product line unique?

Rainforests are often called the “pharmacy of the Earth”, as a quarter of modern medicines are based on tropical plants. These plants are also extremely rich in antioxidants, so their beneficial effect on the skin is unique. Abundant rainfall and constant warmth create a special habitat where plants, insects, birds and animals live in harmony. Rainforest plants have developed their unique properties over millions of years, adapting to extreme environmental conditions. Tropical forests also act as the “lungs” of the Earth, as they absorb huge amounts of carbon dioxide and produce oxygen. With your cosmetic choices, you can also support the survival of rainforests. Local populations and indigenous communities do not cut down trees with bad intentions – they often simply have two alternatives to ensure their livelihood: deforestation and farming, or maintaining a traditional lifestyle by collecting the gifts of the forest. The valuable nuts, fruits, seeds, oils and mushrooms of tropical forests are unique, effective cosmetic ingredients that do not require the cutting down of a single tree. At the same time, they provide livelihoods for the population and support an ecological, sustainable lifestyle. By choosing products containing ingredients from rainforests, you indirectly help protect the most valuable habitats on Earth.

What is Kukui Nut Oil?

Kukui nut oil has a particularly light texture, absorbs quickly into the skin while deeply hydrating. Its secret lies in its skin-friendly fatty acids and high vitamin A and E content. It is rich in linoleic acid and alpha-linolenic acid, while the amount of oleic acid is low, so the skin will not be greasy, but soft and silky to the touch. Due to its balanced ratio of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids and natural antibacterial properties, it is ideal for all skin types and can also help treat eczema or acne. The kukui nut tree is native to tropical rainforests. Its exact origins are not fully known, as humans have taken it to different parts of the world. The earliest evidence of the use of the tree and its nuts dates back around 13,000 years on the tropical islands of Southeast Asia. Native communities used the nuts as food by roasting and steaming them, while in Hawaii the kukui tree also had special spiritual and religious significance. Here, the skin healing effects of kukui nut oil were discovered early on and it was also used as part of religious ceremonies.
