The history of Usva

Usva Cosmetics is a family-owned, natural skincare brand. Our ingredients are carefully selected and our products are handmade in our small workshop in Lohja, Finland.

Our production methods are extremely gentle, so the nutrients and vitamins in the ingredients remain intact and intact. Our products are made in small batches and sent directly from our workshop to our customers - fresh, ready to use immediately.

At Usva, we celebrate the power and harmony of nature, its diversity and unity.

Rainforest plants, which receive plenty of sunlight and moisture, are rich in antioxidants and have antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and soothing effects.

In contrast, the short but intense growth period of northern plants provides them with essential vitamins, protective polyphenols and anthocyanidins. They are resistant and rich in omega-3, -6 and -9 fatty acids, in a balanced ratio.

At Usva, we combine the best qualities of these plants from completely different environments to create effective, natural skin care products that support the skin's own function.

Our products are 100% natural and vegan. Our standards are stricter than many certified natural cosmetics, which still allow the use of animal-derived ingredients such as carmine or beeswax.

We do not add preservatives or synthetics to our products. We create formulas that are effective and long-lasting without additives.

For us, responsibility and sustainability are not just slogans. We carefully examine the social and environmental impact of raw materials and packaging throughout their entire life cycle.

We do not use raw materials whose extraction is harmful or irreversibly destructive to the environment. For example, the production of sandalwood essential oil would involve the cutting down of an endangered tree, as the bark is used to extract the oil. At Usva, we only use ethically sourced and renewable raw materials.

Is it sometimes difficult to find the right skincare products? Naturalness, sustainability, practicality, and the fact that the product actually works on your skin – these qualities are not always found in a single cosmetic, but we took on the challenge.
